I used to live in Illinois near Collinsville and the catsup bottle. The thing that I always found the funniest about the water tower was the seeemingly high number of Asian/Japanese tourists visiting the thing. Thanks for bringing back some interesting memories.

Hi Eve, Thanks for commenting. The Collinsville catsup water tower, in particular, seems to be the source of much civic pride--(a dedicated web site about it, etc.) I have the feeling that, unless you live near one of these, you could go through your whole life never knowing such things existed.

Rob, Thanks for commenting. Great photos. I really like that close up of the bottle with the ladder running up the side to the bottle cap. Sort of gives me vertigo to contemplate it.
