Soda Can Stoves

FornshellyamakawaBill Fornshell’s stove-in-progress based on Yukio Yamakawa’s photo/plan

The third in what appears to be a series of incendiary packaging posts: soda can stoves. (Another interesting packaging re-use.)

A popular DIY project with ultralight backpacker types, the tiny, homemade aluminum stoves are lighter than traditional camping stoves.

According to the Wikipedia entry for “beverage can stoves”:

Pepsi-brand aluminium
cans are often used because they have a bottom shape that lends itself
to securing the stove’s inner wall, and because of this the stoves are
sometimes called Pepsi-can stoves.

I agree with you. Getting labels off should be easy but it’s not. Some companies make nice bottles and packaging and most don’t. Your ideas are great! Nice website.
