Dollhouse Packaging
Play Scale Minis: seeing to it that the cupboards and pantries of today’s dollhouses are are fully stocked with miniature consumer packaged goods.
(A different dollhouse miniature company and a different product category, after the fold…)

Even by the modest standards of a “small business,” I’m guessing this product line was not a big seller for Tiny Details. (via: Condomunity)

Beach Packaging Design

What an interesting article!
As a life-long fan of Fox’s U-Bet (both the look and the flavor) I have to say that if they were to change the packaging, I would immediately suspect that they’d also changed the formula. And I would be very sad at that thought. Maybe I’m just scarred from Coca-Cola pulling that “New Coke” stunt in my childhood years. (I do keep an eye out for Coke made in Mexico, where they still use real sugar. The glass bottles beaten up from countless recyclings only add to the enjoyment!)
As much as I love it, I wouldn’t put the U-Bet label in the Folk Typography pool (which I admin by the way… thanks for the shout-out!) IMHO, it’s actually a pretty polished bit of design, it’s just from an earlier era with different aesthetic values from our own. I think you nailed its appeal with your first guess: if it’s lasted 50 years without changing, it must be good!
